Breaking Up With Big Banks

Every year we hear about big bank executives being awarded multi-million dollar bonuses, even as these same big banks crashed the economy. This year, we won't let big banks use our money for these huge bonuses when they could be helping homeowners stay in their homes. That's why it's time to break up with the big banks.

Families, homeowners, and those of us looking for jobs are all struggling. But big banks continue to foreclose on families, withhold affordable credit, fund predatory payday lenders and refuse to pay their fair share of taxes.

For perspective, the $ 143 billion expected total big bank bonuses could extend unemployment coverage for each of the 15 million unemployed workers in the United States by more than seven months. $143 billion could buy individual health insurance plans for 65 percent of the nation's uninsured, changing the lives of more than 29 million people in the process.

I’m tired of hearing wall street robbers taking millions in bonuses for putting American family’s out on the street. I thought one get’s paid a bonus for doing something extraordinary not robbing their customers blind and not being prosecuted for it.
